Not only does film tell stories beautifully, but music does as well. Karina's goal is to bring them together and create something genuinely amazing!
Karina was born in Ontario, Canada, and has had a passion for music since she was a young child. She started her musical journey at the age of three when she enrolled in an early childhood music program. Karina was particularly fond of Andre Rieu's concerts, and at the age of four, she had the memorable experience of attending one of his live performances.
As Karina grew older, her interest in music continued to flourish. By the age of five, Karina began singing in choirs and small ensembles. At the age of six, she started taking voice lessons. A year later, Karina began learning to play the violin and piano and started attending dance classes.
Karina's musical endeavors took a significant turn when she joined the Kitchener-Waterloo's Grand Philharmonic Children's Choir also at the age of seven. This choir had the privilege of performing regularly with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony orchestra, exposing her to a wide range of musical styles and genres. The choir also provided invaluable theory and musical training, which laid the foundation for her musical development. Over the course of these years, Karina had earned numerous awards for piano, voice and as part of the various choirs and small ensembles that she performed with.
During high school, the COVID-19 pandemic presented unexpected challenges. However, Karina took advantage of the time spent at home by delving into musical composition and taking 3D animation lessons, which lasted about a year. She immersed herself in online tutorials on 3D modeling, animation, music, and various aspects of filmmaking. She diligently applied these skills to her school projects, constantly seeking opportunities to refine her craft. Karina's passion for 3D computer animation grew stronger over time, and she realized that it was the career path that she wanted to pursue. Each film project she undertakes serves as a stepping stone for the next, as Karina experiments with new styles and techniques to enhance her storytelling abilities. Throughout her creative journey, Karina has developed a deep admiration for the talented professionals who contribute to the various fields of filmmaking, including modeling, animation, music, sound, and editing. She actively seeks opportunities to learn from these specialists, recognizing the immense value of their expertise and experience. Karina's pursuit of knowledge and her dedication to her craft have fueled her growth as a filmmaker. She am committed to continuously improving her skills and exploring new creative avenues to produce captivating and meaningful films.
