In 2014, Destiny graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. After working in construction project management for three and a half years, Destiny realized that her true passion was filmmaking. She set out to hone her craft of writing and directing by completing the Wide Angle Program (hosted by producer Effie Brown) and obtaining a screenwriting certificate from UCLA. In 2020, she launched Hush Girl Productions, LLC, which offers freelance screenwriting and copywriting services to filmmakers as well as media companies. Destiny works every day to grow in her craft and intends to continually create art that uplifts its audience and reminds them that they are not alone.
Creator's Crisis is an absurd comedy about the self doubt and insanity that often goes along with trying to pursue a life as an artist. The director, Destiny Macon, has had to deal with so much frustration around the uncertainty of the dreams she feels called to pursue. With this film, she drew inspiration from quirky films like; Edward Scissorhands, Little Shop of Horrors, and the Nutty Professor (with Eddie Murphy) because they comment on the emotional toll that comes with trying to mold yourself into someone other than yourself.
