Cracks
When you're stuck between two worlds, how do you know, to which you belong?
Iris and Nicole experience a hiking vacation through north Germany together. When they crash for one night in a monastery, a long forgotten site of Iris awakens. The barrier between reality and imagination becomes more and more blurry. The two friends are distancing themselves from one another and when they finally overcome the gap between them, it comes by a high cost.

Alter
Andrea Cazzaniga was born in 1985 in Sanremo (Italy) and was raised in a small village right by the sea. From 2004 to 2008 he studied “Design and Art” (B.A.) with a focus on photography at the free university of Bozen (Italy). The years after he worked as a graphic designer. Between 2011 and 2019 he was studying “Film directing” (B.F.A. and M.A.) at the film university Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. His graduation film “Cracks” is a genre film, which was promoted by the rbb. Right now he is working with the script writer Tatjana Scheel on his feature film debut “La Strega di Triora” (The Witch of Triora), which will be shot hopefully very soon in Italy.
Are ghosts real? If so, do people exist who can communicate with them? Our genre film “Cracks” is a drama, mystery, thriller mix. The movie is defining itself with a unique atmosphere, tension and its characters. We want to play with the audience, bring them on the wrong track and giving them creeps by doing that. We don't work with monsters or splatter elements to create the horror. It’s more a psychological horror that we use. A subtle play with the senses of the viewer by using the invisible and unknown. By doing that the viewer will be brought into two different worlds – and will be ripped out of them abruptly. How do we know what’s really “real”?
