Coup de Foudre (Love at First Sight)

Coup de Foudre (Love at First Sight) is a short experimental film done over lockdown, in a time where everyone started to reflect on things such as social interaction, family, or love. After finding and digitalising some old family tapes from the late 80s and early 90s, Marie Sankovitch reflects and explores her family's past.

Director Biography - Marie Sankovitch

Marie Sankovitch is a second year Filmmaking BA student in The Northern Film School. After studying Tv, Film and Media in Madrid (Spain), she decided to move to the United Kingdom to continue with her passion: Making films and telling stories. She specialises in Directing and Editing, and is naturally drawn to the Documentary style. In 2020 she edited the short documentary ‘Bianca Shagger’ - a look into the views and experiences of a young, overtly sexual woman; and in her last project 'Coup de Foudre', the most personal one so far, she reflects and explores her family’s past through old home movies.
