County Lines
Money doesn't know any borders, and crime doesn't pay... County Lines is the term for a UK phenomenon, which describes the behaviour of many inner city drug dealers as they attempt to pursue more profit and less exposure. Young lads from the home counties, some as young as 10 years old are used to traffic large quantities of Class A substances from the wholesale to the street. They are exposed to intimidation and manipulation, and a judicial system ill-equipped to deal with the complexities of a much larger problem.
Our short film 'County Lines' is about just one person in that vast problem. We stripped away the cast and we chose frames and compositions that could tell the story in a fluid way, hopefully enabling the audience to make their own interpretations. It seemed the less we added to the film, the more concise the theme.
