Director Biography - Avan Kavy Kavuma

Short BIO

Avan Kavy Kavuma the Writer,Producer and Director of the film Country Of Men .
Avan has been in the art industry for over a decade now but started as a commercial model and has appeared on a couple of Big brand billboards and TVCs around town To name them...Club beer, Orange Uganda, Uganda Waraji, MTN,and so many other service providers. Avan Kavy Kavuma also appeared on some modeling reality tv show (Runwayheat) where he got the idea of starting real acting . He landed his first movie role in a movie called Dream America produced by Gondaliya motion pictures where he only appeared for a min or less .
Also played roles in series that can’t be mentioned coz they’re not yet released. End of 2018 he got an idea to start his own production,sat down with his co-owner to the production company SIS Films The late Giovanikavyboss Kavuma his brother they planned and decided to produce their first film . Avan Kavy Kavuma started writing and by February 2019 the script was ready. Production started April . And the film Titled “Country of Men” was Premiered on the 2nd Of October 2019 in Kampala.

Director Statement

Country of Men is a an imaginary story where after a series of wars a country has no economy and authorities, A group of men from the mountains will take it upon themselves to be a threat to the neighboring villages as they keep raiding for food and other necessities. The country is a no habitat for the vulnerable , women will have to disguise their feminine or flea out of the country for fear of being raped and killed. These men use a different language that the writer and dIrector created and called 'DICHA' that made them unique and more scary to the villages they raided.
