At the beginning of this school year I was like most of my class, dreading how we were going to manage a senior year in a pandemic. I knew that this year is something that we would be asked about for the rest of our lives-and given the uniqueness of the time I hope this video ages well like fine wine.
Because what better way to express the emotions of our year than documenting it. Originally I planned to create a video montage with just a music soundtrack playing behind. But as I began to edit the variety of footage gained from the year, I knew that voices and perspectives needed to be heard in more of a documentary style film. The resilient class of 2021 learned much more than what is found in books. They had experiential lessons in tenacity and gratitude. Skill sets that will effectively inoculate them for a lifetime. My documentary is able to show the rollercoaster of emotions that flooded our lives this year and how we buckled in and rode it for 10 months. It was only fitting that I titled the documentary Coronacoaster because it truly showcases the highs and lows of a pandemic senior year
