Corcovado Quilombo - Ancestry
In 1940, in a post-slavery Brazil, but still marked by the exploitation of Afro-descendant peoples, João Mangueira and Laudimira prayed to God, asking for a land that would bring them peace, comfort and freedom. Thus begins the story of the quilombo of Corcovado, a territory in the backlands of Bahia, between the mountains of Chapada Diamantina. A story about faith, resistance, affection and culture, knowledge and actions transmitted through the ancestral heritage of its founders, who remain alive.
