Brett Melnick is a Los Angeles-based writer and filmmaker, originally from a suburb of Maryland. Ever since getting his first vido camera at the age of 9, Brett has always wanted to strong tell stories, hoping to make people laugh, as well as think critically about the world. Following in the footsteps of his childhood influences such as Milos Foreman, Paul Thomas Anderson and Steven Spielberg- Brett writes and creates every day in hopes to perfect his art, elicit hope in others and change the world for the better.
As a student with aspirations to one-day direct for feature films and television, I strongly believe in pursuing my dreams- no matter how scary or uncertain the path to reach them. I feel that people are often afraid to pursue their dreams due to fears that they may not reach them. I hope that Conveyor Belt will encourage my audience to take chances, and ultimately follow their dreams.
Developing and creating compelling projects is what draws me so strongly to the narrative medium. Filmmaking has taught me invaluable skills about myself and the various character around me that fill this world, and I hope to use those skills to better understand the human element, and elicit it in all of my future work.
