Contrapunctus I

The Art of the Fugue is J. S. Bach's last work, written in the 1740s. He couldn't finish it. So the piece remained a fragment. However, a highly formulated one, which certainly increases the appeal of this complex piece.
The films Contrapunctus I and XI do not show the four musicians playing this complex music. Instead, the exact opposite happens: the musicians play only theoretically, their hands act detached from their instruments. Thus, the act of making music, playing out this fugue, comes to the fore.
