Contracorriente

Salmon farming lands in Tierra del Fuego with a feasibility study and location of slaughter areas. Due to its geography, the industry can only be installed in six "Sacrifice Spots". The information circulating is scarce and unclear. In parallel and without warning, four salmon cages are being built in Puerto Williams.

To show the incredible biodiversity that is at risk and to prevent an ecological disaster, a group of divers dive into the depths of the Beagle Channel. The voices of activists, biologists, politicians and citizens of Tierra del Fuego and Puerto Williams are raised to say "No to salmon farming"; as they search for a way to ban salmon farms in their waters.

Most documentaries are made after the environmental disaster has already happened. To go against the tide is to arrive earlier to change the end of a story that we know how it ends. It is to keep fighting to transform those "sacrifice spots" into hope spots.
