Contacts

NORA, a teenage girl with a lonely past in elementary school, discovers an old photograph which may be evidence as to the only friend she had back then. Unable to recognize the boy pictured standing next to her younger self, Nora develops a slight, yet growing obsession in her determination to identify this mystery friend. Nora spends every waking moment thinking about the boy and pursuing leads, leaving little room for anything or anyone else. During this time, Nora’s current best friend IZZY faces the ever widening gap between them that Nora’s obsession has caused. Izzy attempts to reach Nora, but it seems the lure of mystery has a tight grip on Nora that keeps pulling her back in. In the midst of all this, she fails to recognize the deteriorating friendship between Izzy and herself at the cost of searching for a relationship that had passed with time. Even so, Izzy decides to help Nora with her investigation, ultimately leading to, in the eyes of Nora, a groundbreaking discovery. Finally, Nora had the correct name and contact information of the friend she had been searching for. The thrilling excitement she feels as she is about to call the mystery himself comes to a halt when she rediscovers a different photograph. This one is not old nor mysterious, but just like before, Nora is again reminded of yet another forgotten friendship. After a moment of contemplation, reflection, and guilt, the film ends with Nora calling her best friend, Izzy, to reconcile.
