Conscience of a Journalist
The story spans though the Sri Lankan political Period of 1988 to 1989. There was a mother living with her only son in a rural area in their poverty stricken house. Her husband had been abducted by the police years back and he never returned ever since. With all the difficulties she brought up her son Manupriya to be young graduate. He is still unemployed, yet ready to help anybody who is in need.
Manupriya had been having an affair with a girl named Disna while he was in the university. Disna and her brother was brought up by her uncle since the demise of her father. Disna's brother is in the Army and she by now is employed with the backing of her uncle a Bank employee and a secretary to the Chief Minister.
Having noticed Manupriya's participation in anti government demonstrations organized by the university students he strongly objected Disna for her the continuation of her affair with Manupriya. Disna's uncle had been the Chief Minister's agent who assist his corrupt practices.
One day Disna's uncle was found murdered at his home. This was the period a proscribed political party was active all over the country. Immediately after the day of the funeral of Dina, Manupriya was found murdered at the thresh hold of Manupriya's home branding him a murderer. Once again his mother became a lonely woman deserted by everybody.
Years later the journalist Dharmapriya a friend of Manupriya thought of bringing up the the real story of Manupriya justifying his innocence through the News Papers.
Dharmapriya see this tale in a multifaceted panorama as seen by several individuals. He confirmed his justification but became wordless in front of Manupriya's mother's queries about the plight of women falk.

It is expected to explore the reaction of the conscience of an individual sensitivity. More or less regarding the plight of the mothers of a society whose aspiration to present to the society a youth of lovable and valuable individual.
We had gone through three spells of insurrections where we have lost youth to their mothers, to their wife's and generally at large to the country. In this context this is a subject to be discussed in length through cinema or literature.
