Mary M. Dalton is Professor of Communication at Wake Forest University where she teaches courses in critical media studies focusing on film and television. Her documentaries have been screened at various festivals, museums, galleries, libraries, and on public television. The recent film Living in the Overlap was widely seen on the LGBT festival circuit where it won audience awards at Inside Out and at Reel Q, Best Documentary Short at Reeling 32, and a spot on the short list for the Iris Prize. Mary's scholarly publications include articles, book chapters, and the books The Hollywood Curriculum: Teachers in the Movies; Teacher TV: Seventy Years of Teachers on Television; and The Sitcom Reader: America Re-viewed, Still Skewed.
