During a time in which Cuban exiles were seeking refuge in Miami due to the new Castro regime, a talented group of musicians formed a band to keep their musical heritage alive by playing for fellow exiles through dark times as they started a new life in the United States.

As a first-time documentary director, George V. Lopez is proud to tell a South Florida story that is unique and filled with the eclectic sounds of his father's native Cuba. It is no surprise that Lopez's expertise lies in sound editing, design and mixing. He has worked in the sound department on more than 10 short films over the last four years. In addition, he worked on feature films and television series such as Bad Boys for Life, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Good Fight. Lopez has also worked on two Suncoast Regional Emmy® Award-winning versions of Video Game Concert for Miami Dade College. Lopez is a recent graduate at Miami Dade College earning a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science in Film, Television and Digital Production.
