Confessions Ltd
In his last few hours alive, Theodore McCarrick, a wealthy business man who's family and friends are eager to inherit his vast fortune, contacts Confessions Ltd and hires a private deathbed confessor, Archibald Wesley Hammond, to crash his own funeral. With a last minute endowment of 'power of attorney' the confessor surprises the congregation, relieves the priest of his ceremonial duties and proceeds to deliver a message and announce shocking changes to his client's last will and testament.

Fletcher Smith is a Midlands-based filmmaker and assistant director at the start of his career, with a growing focus on sensory-driven storytelling and exploring human connection or experience.
Fletcher has also collaborated with celebrated actors like Sir Tony Robinson and Graham Cole OBE, and his work has earned recognition with an RTS Student awards screening, a Channel 4 Production Workshop win, and the title of Best Maverick Filmmaker at the Reel Film Challenge. His previous project O’ Ash Tree, a poetic-mode documentary screened or won at several festivals including Lift-Off, International Art and Big Fridge International.
In contrast, his most recent project, Confessions - a short drama with elements of dark comedy he directed and co-wrote, marks his largest project to date, exploring complex moralities and the concept of justice after death showcasing a different side to his creative style.
Confessions Ltd is a darkly comedic drama that explores justice, morality, and greed, born from the question: Can justice be served after death?
The concept of hiring a deathbed confessor may seem absurd at first, but from another perspective, it’s one man’s final chance to seek justice against those close to him, driven by greed. Meanwhile, the confessor hired is convinced he’s delivering it. This collision of motivation highlights how each sides perspective on justice differs, making it impossible to say who, if anyone, is truly justified. How can justice be served when each party’s truth is so different?
The world of Confessions Ltd serves as a social commentary, and we wanted to build it with a “Hollywood-British Fusion” visual style that feels like a theatrical stage - shifting between the dark, rich and mysterious and the imperfect chaotic that reflect the film’s truly unpredictable nature.
Ultimately, Confessions Ltd makes us re-evaluate the morality of justice and leaves us to question its true nature and moral implications.
