Twenty-seven year-old Dato, works at a charity fund. He helps the socially vulnerable and distressed. Much like his beneficiaries, he himself has to deal with certain very difficult problems. Dato has a wife, Nanuka who is battling cancer. Dato is a caring husband and naturally supports his wife, however he cannot bring himself to confess that he doesn’t love her anymore. He is romantically involved with his coworker, Elene, who very much feels the same way. Elene is in a failing marriage with a man of criminal mentality and is afraid to break things off with him.
While working, Dato and Elene end up in a very distressed household, where a mother of four has obviously been a victim of domestic violence and despite the evidence, she is in denial and keeps defending her husband. Elene, seeing the obvious similarities to her own strife, is now faced with a difficult decision – is she to wait for Dato to step up, or take charge of her own life.
Nanuka’s health worsens and Dato’s dilemma becomes harder as his sense of responsibility and guilt intensifies even more.
