Commute (let it happen)
The subject of this short music video cum documentary is the acute home sickness felt in London for the hills of Western Massachusetts, particularly during the last year during the global pandemic, which produced heightened feelings of longing for home alongside the questioning of life choices for many.

Olivia Tusinski is an urban researcher and strategist. She works in the Regeneration and Economic Development Team at the Greater London Authority, where she directs programs focused on grassroots innovation, participatory city making, and inclusive economic development. She was born and raised in Leyden and is now the loving owner of a dilapidated church on K Street in Turners Falls.
For me, living and working in London, the pandemic brought about a heightened sense of longing for home, the familiar, the wild and the open; and as it did for many others, also deepened existing questions I had about my own life choices, around how and where I spend my time on earth.
This is my first attempt to assemble a film from some of the "everyday" experience of commuting in London. I see this project as the first step of a broader ambition to capture 'commutes' undertaken across the world, as we go about our different daily paths.
