The Common Good International Film Festival celebrates films that foster social and personal responsibility to others and the earth. We promote a vision for the common good through films that represent dignity for all and that offer a chance for creative transformation.

Submission to the 2023 Common Good International Film Festival (CGIFF) constitutes an agreement with all festival terms and conditions, and permission to exhibit the work during the festival if selected. Entrants warrant that they have the legal right to submit the work to CGIFF, that all statements made in this application are true and accurate, and that all necessary rights and clearances have been secured to exhibit the work at the festival.

We are happy to screen films that have already screened elsewhere, but we do not screen films that have seen a major theatrical release. Films with online distribution or that are already available as VOD will be considered on a case by case basis.

The Common Good International Film Festival may deny acceptance of any film at its sole discretion. ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Accepted feature films may deliver either a DCP or in ProRes HQ 422 Quicktime File formats. Short filmmakers must be prepared to deliver their films in ProRes HQ 422 Quicktime File formats, but DCP is welcome as well if available. Foreign language films must be subtitled in English. Any costs necessary to deliver the exhibition file to CGIFF in the required format, or for any necessary subtitling, is the sole responsibility of the entrant.

All accepted films grant CGIFF and their designated agents permission to utilize clips, trailers, and images from the film for festival promotional content. The entrant agrees to notify CGIFF if or when they may lose ownership of the clips, trailers, and images and no longer be able to grant said permission.

All materials sent from outside the United States must be sent "free domicile" to the CGIFF office, with all transportation charges, duties and taxes prepaid by shipper. CGIFF will not handle customs clearances, so please be sure to include all of the proper customs documentation required by your shipping service. CGIFF will cover return shipping to the address designated as the Print Source, or to another festival or destination, within the continental United States via ground shipping.

Although every possible care will be taken with exhibition material in our possession, CGIFF is not responsible for loss or damage.

CGFF is a small festival with a big heart. It takes place in Claremont, CA - a college town so there's a dedicated movie going audience. The Q&A moderated by Jeremy was very thoughtful, he had done his research. We received a lot of deep questions from audience members who wanted to champion the film. The level of interaction with the viewers made it a special screening. This is a no-frills festival - no parties or swag - just good films and engaged audiences. The charming town of Claremont is not far from Los Angeles, so it makes an enjoyable day or weekend trip! Thanks so much!
