Coming Home

The following film is solely comprised of home footage taken from the brothers’ journey to the homeland. Every moment is raw, and real. Their story wasn’t prepared, this film wasn’t planned.

This is simply life.

Martin migrated to Australia with his wife and child to give them better opportunities. Fast forward to 2018, when Martin and his two grown boys, Ciaran and Brendan, make a life changing journey to Ireland.

Ciaran only knew the country as a young child, while Brendan didn't know a lot about his Irish heritage, having been born in Australia. Together they encounter their Irish roots in a journey that takes them to a foreign land that embraces them with unexpected warmth and love.

Ciaran and Brendan saw Martin as more than their Father. He was a mentor, a leader, a teacher, a brother, and their best friend. Martin was everything to Ciaran and Brendan. Martin was the proudest, most respectful person they both knew. He was a hero, and taking this journey with him was a life long dream of theirs.

The brothers find humour, sadness, loss, and strength in a country and strangers whom they now know as family - no matter the time that's passed, or the distance between them - they had uncovered a new respect for a father who they learned sacrificed everything for his family.

Martin always hoped to share the motherland with his two boys. Little did they know, this final lesson for the brothers would be one that changes their lives forever.

The Boys’ love for Ireland burned bright within their hearts.
