Director Biography - Darlyne de Haan

Dr. de Haan, a Fulbright Administrator, is a former Forensic Scientist and Environmental Chemist with over 20 years experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. Dr. de Haan is presently the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Math and Science for a large Title 1 district in New Jersey. Dr. de Haan is a former Middle School Vice Principal, former Instructional Specialist for the New Jersey Department of Education as well as a former Supervisor of Math, Science, STEM and Technology.
Dr. de Haan has been selected to Keynote and present at many conferences both at the International, National and State levels, including the International Conference on Bilingual Education in Taipei, TESOL, NCTM, SDE, Innovative Schools, STEMCON, and for the New Jersey Department of Education. Dr. de Haan also has a monthly blog with TESOL and is fluent in English, and proficient in Spanish.
Darlyne holds a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership specializing in increasing teacher self-efficacy and the education for English Language Learners and other culturally, linguistically and ethnically diverse students. Dr. de Haan earned Master degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership; and a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Mathematics.
Dr. de Haan is also a huge fan of Ada Twist whose series provides students the opportunity to see minorities as scientist and contributors to society and science.
