The Colorado Dragon Film Festival, the only Asian/Asian-American themed film festival in the Denver area, is brought to you by the same organization that hosts the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, one of the largest pan-Asian cultural events in North America.
CDFF seeks to showcase an eclectic lineup of films from all over the world. Not only do we have short film showcases but screen shorts before the features when possible in order to create another level of dialogue between the works.
We are preparing for our third year's festival to be held at the Alamo Drafthouse Sloan's Lake from March 2-4, 2018.
In the past CDFF has screened such films as Uzumasa Limelight with director Ken Ochiai in attendance and 52 Hz I Love You with director Wei Te-shen in attendance. We have highlighted works from Japan (Being Good), Hong Kong (Ten Years), Thailand (Heart Attack), China (What's in the Darkness), South Korea (The Last Princess), and more. Along with recent releases we also try to include repertory works. CDFF 2017 held a tribute to the late Seijun Suzuki with a screening of Youth of the Beast.
