"They look like women. Smell like women. Move like women. Sound like women. Except for the fact that they are actually men, they would be women". This is a quote from Canadian urban issues columnist Christopher Hume, who was nominated five times for the National Newspaper Award, for expressing his views on transgender people. The short film Cocoon is about a young man who breaks through his inner barrier and pursues his real gender identity in his dream world. The original intention of making this film is to express my support for the LGBTQIA2S+ community and to express my encouragement to the underprivileged gender minorities who do not have the courage to be themselves. As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, I was inspired by my friends around me because the LGBTQIA2S+ community, especially the Trans community, is not treated equally in this social environment. Therefore, I wanted to contribute to the affirmative action of the LGBTQIA2S+ community with this film.
