Eva is a kindergarten teacher and lives with her partner Carla in a small German town. For a while, now concerned mothers have been parading through Eva's and Carla's neighborhood with German flags. More posters against the wearing of headscarves appear and a young women's group "In Defense of Europe" is forming at Carla's university.
Eva‘s sister, Silke, has recently become patriotically involved "in the protection of women's rights" and thus becomes Eva's political opponent.
While the family conflict comes to a head, racist incidents increase at Eva‘s work in the after-school care center while her colleague looks the other way.
Eva, at first overwhelmed, finds the resolve to investigate her colleague and enters into the world of „Völkisch - german settlements“- a world that lies beyond her imagination…

Elisa Nelvand was born in Freiberg, Saxony, in 1988.
After training as a tailor, they studied costume design at the Berlin University of the Arts, where Elisa already worked in an interdisciplinary way.
This was evident in their master's thesis "Dress and Gender", in which Elisa combined video, installation and photography, as well as in other works.
After their studies, they worked as a costume assistant* and costume designer in film and theater (including at the Volksbühne, the Neukölln Opera).
Having not been happy in different, hierarchically organized theater and film productions, Elisa worked predominantly in collective contexts with a common basic political understanding.
Since 2017, Elisa has been working mainly with Theater X, a community theater in Berlin Moabit, where they designed and implemented the costume and set design for several productions. While the focus of Elisas earlier work was particularly on sexualized violence and gender, Elisa now focuses on intersectionality and right-wing radicalism.
They work intensively on the latter in their first film.
After many years of experience in model and figure making, drawing and video, the jump to stop motion film was not very big, but still a challenge.
"Nah Dran" is Elisa's first mid-length film and first animated film.
