Cinemira - International Children's Film Festival is a wonderful event for families, film lovers and prodigies of filmmaking. This children's film festival designed for children aged 4 to 14. It takes place at Akvárium Klub in the central of the beautiful and exciting Budapest in the beginning of spring - April 6th-8th, 2018. Behind the festival there is a team of young filmmakers mad about children's film - called Children's Film Academy. We develop workshops for children aged 10-18 in the areas of film, television and new media throughout the year.
During the festival we screen short animations, documentaries and live actions from all over the world and a selection of the best feature films for children. There are animation, cartoon and film workshops for children. Also we present a market where you can find the best books, comics and posters related to children's film.

CineMira - Budapest Internation Children's film festival is accepting short films for competition section made for children by professionals or made by children.
There are categories for short documentary, short live action and short animation. The entry deadline is on 22 January, 2018.

The festival is held in Budapest, Hungary between 6th-8th April 2018.
We select 10 films for each category in the competition section.

Date: Only works with a release date after January 1, 2015 will be allowed to participate in the competitive sections.

Length: Short films of up to a maximum of 15 minutes in length can participate in the competitions.

The organizer will inform the applicants of their acceptance in writing by no later than 15th of March , 2018.


Short films and student films included in competition are accepted only in the formats Quicktime H.264 HD that can be uploaded at the online application.


Competing films must be provided with English subtitles by the applicant. Competing films for children, animated films and non-competing films for children of up to 10 years of age are screened in their original version with simultaneous interpreting into Hungarian language provided by the organizer. Other competing films are screened in their original version with English subtitles and at the same time with Hungarian subtitles provided by the organizer.
