Cinderello
A fun, playful, bilingual musical retelling of the classic fairytale. Cinderello, a poor Italian orphan is taken in by his English speaking Stepfather and stepbrothers. Through a misunderstanding Cinderello assumes he is to be their servant and must sleep on the kitchen floor. When he turns out to be a very good cook and a meticulous cleaner his stepfamily is happy to oblige him. Full of despair, he is visited by his fairy godparents who guide him on a magical adventure to win the heart of the princess, a passionate dancer looking for the greatest dancer in the kingdom.
Cinderello was produced by “ExtraTeatro” specialising in bilingual theatre and multimedia for children and families for over a decade.

Arianna De Giorgi was born in Rome in 1978. She worked on several movie productions before graduating with honours in film and television production at New York University. She is an accomplished film director having won ten film festivals for her short film “The End of Flowers” and having written and directed with Jason Goodman the romantic comedy “The Eternal City” which screened at numerous festivals with Variety noting its “raffish comic charm”. For the last 12 years she has been working in theatre, producing and directing many bilingual musicals for children with her company ExtraTeatro.
Jason Goodman was born in Boston in 1981. Graduated in film and tv production at New York University he is an actor, writer, director and composer. His films “The End” and “The Eternal City” were screened at many film festivals in Europe and the United States. He co-founded with Arianna De Giorgi the theatre company ExtraTeatro and has since worked as a writer, actor and composer on more than ten bilingual musicals for children.
Our work over the last decade has been bilingual theater for children in Italy. A small niche experienced by students and passionate weekend theatergoers. In the devastation of the current pandemic we have used our passion for cinema to continue to reach our audience and hopefully new audiences. Cinema being a universal language lets us make something for everyone no matter how many languages you speak.
Our production was independent and low budget. The special effects are "homemade" and everything was shot in a room but we have put our love into it. We wanted a celebration of joy and humour and romance and of the mystery and adventure of learning something new.
