Chronicles Of Alt-Earth EP1 - "O'Quii's Aurah"

In this opening episode of the Chronicles of Alt-Earth we find O’Kuii the Sovern of the Magi’Jawhan in a competition with his former student Aurah Major. The two battle for supremacy until O’Quii puts a stop to this. Then we are taken via flash back 300 years to the attempted assassination of O’Quii and his sister Enya. In this attempt Enya is mortally wounded. Thus begins the first Dregii incursion into Magi’Jawhan space. When we return to the present O’Quii sends Aurah to summon the ‘Jwahn to council to prepare for the second coming Dregii invasion.

Director Biography - Joshua Michael, Ilsa Ambika

Joshua Michael founder and CEO of Selway Studios was born in Southern California, the eldest of four brothers, and is now the father of four children. He is a 12 year military veteran who served as a combat medic in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom receiving an honorable discharge in 2005 due to injuries sustained during his service. . Growing up in an artistic and theater emboldened family it seemed inevitable Joshua Michael would develop a passion for film direction. Seeking to advance his knowledge and expertise in film he graduated from Evergreen college in 2012 with a BA degree in film production. In 2010 he established Area 51 Productions a precursor to Selway Studios. Desiring to go beyond his undergraduate degree Joshua graduated from Fullsail University in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology.

Challenges have been welcomed by Joshua Michael. Later, in October of 2018, Joshua moved his family to Hamilton, Montana. There he opened a film production company and an academy to work and train veterans and students interested in learning film production. Then in 2020 he founded Selway Studios and is currently working on producing; music videos, short films, training videos, documentaries and a feature length film.

"Ilsa Ambika Ryan is a free spirited creative soul who grew up in the Mission Mountains of Montana. She made her first film at age 12 and from that point forward knew that it was a huge part of her path. Inspired by both filmmaking and acting Ilsa did her first year of schooling in Norway at an Acting & Musical Theater focused school (Follo Folkehogskole) and then went to VFS (Vancouver Film School) in Vancouver B.C Canada. Ending her time in Vancouver on a high note, Ilsa’s final film project won the Impact Award at the VFS film festival.

After graduating Ilsa moved to Los Angeles to begin her real education of working in the industry. There she jumped right into acting; booking roles in a few commercials as well as small series and shows. Ilsa also joined in on a few different production teams as a P.A., but the pieces that were missing for her were deeper story telling and community.

So ilsa and a few other friends developed an art based collective to help build a platform for all creatives to connect, support, and thrive. They found a space in Downtown LA and began throwing events, hosting classes, creating productions, and renting out the space to be used as a film & photo studio. This was where Ilsa found she thrived, getting experience in many different facets of production. She would build sets, create production schedules, book gigs, write, choreograph, and produce shows, as well as film and edit videos for events. From this foundation ilsa and another friend found it possible to create their own successful film production company with an emphasis on giving affordable film options to artists who had a vision but didn’t have a major budget. Through this company she created many series, music videos, reels, and shorts. And in 2020 one of the series ilsa wrote, produced, and starred in won awards at multiple film festivals around the U.S. !

Even though L.A. has many opportunities for growth, Ilsa deeply missed her Montana roots. The goal was always to learn and gain the skills so that she could bring it back to her home base and create projects she deeply cared about. Ilsa moved back to Missoula, MT in 2022 and is now teamed up with the SELWAY STUDIO. She feels like she found a team that resonates with her drive and vision and can’t wait to see where this creative collaboration takes them! "

Director Statement

l knew that I was facing a challenge on this first episode. I would either have to direct on set while acting, which I typically don’t like doing, or bring on another director. So I decided to bring on my good friend Ilsa as the onset director. This freed me to concentrate on my character delivery and be 100% focused on the character without having to worry about being behind the camera. I have a wonderful creative production team. Ilsa is a wonderful director and my Director of Photography, James Gartner is amazing. Together we are a strong collaborative team. All of the Selway Studio staff are creative and attentive. Not only on set but during the prep-roduction process as well. I think this is why our projects always wind up better than originally envisioned. I would say thanks again to my entire team of collaborators. You all are AMAZING! - Producing Director Joshua Michael
