Experiencing Interruptions?

Christmas, I Guess...

“Christmas, I Guess…” is a story about a young musician from Indonesia named Charlotte, who is stuck in Los Angeles unable to be home for Christmas. Seeing how miserable Charlotte is, her best friend Michelle drags her to a Christmas party where Charlotte quickly realizes how far away she is from achieving what she came to LA to pursue. Missing home and feeling out of place at a party is not a good combination of emotions, but despite that, Charlotte discovers that the spirit of Christmas is so powerful that it still finds a way to fill her weary heart with love.

Director Statement

"Christmas, I Guess..." is such a special film to me. Not only does it wrap up my era of being a film student, but it also draws from my personal experience being so far away from home during the holidays. During this unprecedented time, with COVID multiplying its variants, I know a lot of friends who are not able to be with their family or celebrate the way they want to. I had created this film because I wanted to brighten up their spirits and bring some Christmas joy to them.

I am also so happy to be able to cast an Indonesian talent as my main actress. Representation is very important to me, and I am going to try and find more ways to showcase Indonesian talents in my future work!
