Born and raised in Washington, DC influenced by the political culture to write in the genres of politics, crime, fashion, drama and horror. It's no surprise that I graduated with a bachelors degree in government and politics and a masters degree in management. I held a stable job for many years and then decided to move to New York City and pursue an associates degree in fashion buying and merchandising. I worked in New York city's retail world where I found it to be very fast-paced but overrated. After a few years I moved back to DC working in the corporate retail field. However realizing that that was not my final destination, life happened. After surviving a life altering car accident and the death of a loved one, I put the pieces of my life back together and got back out into the work scene. . For the past 16 years I have worked in the procurement field utilizing my skills in government politics and buying and merchandising. Feeling somewhat unfulfilled, I decided to explore my creativity again and get back into writing. At the start of COVID I got the opportunity to go back to school and enter an arts degree program where I pursued creative writing and photography. As soon as I finished that program, I enrolled in the UCLA extension screen writing program. I completed the program in September 2022. By December 2022 I entered my first screenplay Eden, into the Boston screenplay awards. Life was still happening, I ended up as a care giver for a sick sibling and writing helped me keep my sanity. By February 2023 I found out that my screenplay had placed as a Quarterfinalist. However, by April the writers' strike was on so pursuing anything in writing at that time just didn't happen. I continued to work on my screenplay. Recently, this June, I submitted my screenplay, Eden to the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards; it placed as a Semifinalist. I am looking forward to a career as a writer, producer and film maker.
