Chris Watt is an award winning screenwriter & script consultant.
A member of BAFTA Scotland, he is best known for writing the screenplay for the feature film STALKER, a psychological horror thriller, starring Sophie Skelton (Outlander) & BAFTA winner Stuart Brennan (Rise), which premiered at Frightfest in 2022 before going onto a theatrical release in the U.S. & DVD/Digital release.
His second feature film screenplay, the contained thriller THE MIRE, was released in 2024 & is available on digital platforms, following a sold out premiere & many positive reviews internationally.
Chris wrote the script for the multi-award winning short film BRUISE, which premiered at the Oscar and BAFTA qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, before enjoying a successful festival run, playing all around the world, while he was also the co-writer of the short film THE PURSUIT OF INDEPENDENCE, which is currently on a festival run & recently played at the BIFA qualifying North East International Film Festival.
As a consultant, he has worked with the BFI Film Labs & for numerous screenwriting competitions, as well as a number of independent filmmakers around the world, and has been a guest speaker for a handful of university screenwriting courses, including the University of London.
In 2022, Chris wrote the screenplay MORGAN'S WAKE, a crime thriller, which was a Top 5 Finalist in the Shore Scripts Feature Screenplay Competition. In 2024, his pilot script for the proposed TV series SOUTHBANK won the Grand Prize in the Shore Scripts TV Pilot Competition.
