His stories revolve around these themes Old age, Children, Anglo Indians and Education.
The film Chirag was made as a Fiction Film Design Project at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India. After research on illiteracy and education, I chose to make a fiction film in this direction. The original story 'The Thief' by Ruskin Bond was adapted and set into the contemporary Ahmedabad context. As a director, I wanted to create a subtle piece of cinema in a simple yet innocent world which is mirroring human trust and the dwelling emotions connected to spaces and a specific person, layering it with empathy and gradual awakening.
