The 1st Chelmsford Fringe Festival is here!!!

Celebrating the performing arts in all its guises - Theatre, Comedy, Spoken Word, Music including classical music, Talks with amazing authors, Workshops and much more... in venues in Chelmsford City Centre including a STAGE for 10 days on the High Street and stalls from charities, partners and vendors. We are also celebrating 100yrs of BBC.

Chelmsford Fringe Festival 2022 invites you to participate in their first-ever Short Film Competition.

The short films can be in any genre, any style and on any subject. It has to be the result of genuine collaboration and it must be the original work of the entrant(s).

The length can’t exceed 15 minutes, including credits.

If you are selected, you will participate in the competition that will be taking place during the Chelmsford Fringe Festival at Anglia Ruskin University on the 14th of July 2022 where you will compete in two categories:
Audience Award & Young Jury.

Terms and conditions of entry
Films can be in any genre and style and up to 15’00” in length.
Entries must be suitable for a general audience.
The organisers reserve the right to reject entries deemed to be unsuitable.
Entries must be the work of the individual or group submitting them and should be accompanied by a short statement giving basic information on how the film was funded, including any grants or assistance from public bodies (e.g. Film London or other regional agencies, borough schemes, etc.).
The short films that make it to the competitions should be able to send at least one representative to be part of the competition on the 14th of July, 2022.
The screenings will be scheduled to take place in the afternoon.
The closing date for entries is 24th June 2022 - 23.59.
The notification date for the selection of the films that will participate in the Short Film Competition will be 72 hours after receiving the application.
The judges’ decision will be final during the evening of the Short Film Competition.
