Cheese. Travelling from Switzerland to Russia.
This film intents to show the history of two countries through the story of one product - first Russian cheese. It was made in the village Lotoshino in the estate of count Meschersky. A Swiss cheesemaker Johann Muller was hired and first cheesemakers in Russia worked under his supervision. For the entire century the cheesemaking operation flourished, the first laboratory, farming school and chesse factoty were established. But in 1917 with the Revolution the Meschersky and the Muller had to leave Russia. The Mullers came back to Switzerland. Their descendants still farm and make cheese. And in Russia nowadays live the farmers who want to revive the recipe of the very first nature cheese...
