Hi! I’m a Latina actor, writer, and director born-and-raised in LA. I guess you could say I’m a valley girl at heart, but with more Annie Hall in me than Cher Horowitz. Okay… fine. The Cher comes out in me every now and then. But I like to keep that hush hush.
Back in 2013, I ditched LA for NY to attend NYU Tisch School of the Arts. But to be honest, my real education was working for producer Scott Rudin for two years. I moved my classes around my senior year to work full-time for Scott, working in-development on projects such as Fences (2016), Lady Bird (2017), Annihilation (2018), Eighth Grade (2018), Mid 90’s (2018); as well as a plethora of theatre projects including Stephen Karam’s The Humans (2016) and Hello, Dolly! (2018).
After two years learning at Rudin, I spread my wings and flew on over to The Gersh Agency where I worked for Theatre/Lit agent Leah Hamos in the New York office. Since then, I have had a plethora of jobs working in production, working for Academy Award-winning director Michael Moore, Emmy-winning producer Celia Costas, Emmy-winning writer and producer Matt Byrne, director Nzingha Stewart.
My most recent production credits include: From Scratch (2022), Inventing Anna (2022), Tick, Tick… Boom! (2021), Let Them All Talk (2020).
As for my own work, I’ve directed and written two short films, SHELTERED and AFTER SCHOOL, that have had their run in the festival circuit: Beverly Hills Film Festival, Los Angeles International Film Festival, Berlin Independent Film Festival, Los Angeles Women in Film Festival, Studio City International Film & TV Festival, Venice Shorts, New Filmmakers NY, Chicago Indie Film Awards, Dumbo Film Festival, Academy Award-qualifying Bengaluru International Film Festival + more.
As much as I tried to step away from the acting world, it has kept pulling me back. I grew up in acting classes, a pseudo form of therapy for me, studying at the Lee Strasberg Institute, Hallie Todd Studios, Anthony Meindl, and the New York Film Academy. My mom was the farthest thing from a momager, and she drew the line at driving me around the whole city for auditions (you know, back when they were all in-person). Can you blame her? Unlucky for her, I was the kind of kid who was either asking to be driven to figure skating at 5am (I thought I would be the next Michelle Kwan), some dance class, at one point I tried the flute (didn’t work out), or an audition. Now, I still have the acting itch and am back at it, studying at Playhouse West.
