A graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television, Summera Howell is a prolific writer, director, producer, and actress. In 2018, she created a #MeToo PSA with an all female team of filmmakers which premiered on Huffington Post. The PSA was subsequently picked up by numerous other outlets
including NowThis, USA Today, and MS. Magazine. She also wrote, directed, produced and starred in an expressionist art film entitled Perchance. Perchance premiered at the Harmony Gold theater as part of the Collaboration Film Challenge, where it was nominated for Best Technical Achievement. In 2016, SmashCut Film Lab selected her as a Fellow, granting her professional mentorship and $13,000 to create her short film
Avowed, which she made with a 50% female crew.
