Belonging from an Oil discovered town in Upper Assam of India, Chaitanya’s ancestral roots spread across the west in the deserts of Rajasthan, and similarly, he has been making films over 5 years, travelling across the world with his camera and telling stories.
After studying architecture & films from University of Melbourne, Australia, he came back to India & started his own production company, ‘A Hippie Hit Joint’ in 2019, directing short films, documentaries, travel videos & visual montages, which have been selected in film festivals across the globe, including the Yellowstone international Film Festival & screened at online movie platforms such as MovieSaints, Jugged Motion Pictures, Shorted & also, physically screened at venues like, NEthing & Live Room.
He has worked as an Assistant Director in India's Top production house, Excel Productions & Tiger Baby Films in Mumbai for the web show “Dahaad” on Amazon.
Recently he got a chance to be a part of the photography masterclass with Mr. Raghu Rai, the father of Indian Photography in Varanasi.
In 2024, he was also the only Indian filmmaker selected to be a part of the Actuality Abroad crew in Morocco, where he directed the film “Anything Is Possible” with an international crew.
Currently, he is writing a feature comedy about a coming of age group of friends adventure movie.
His favourite film is "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" by Sergio Leone.
