This short film is the film adaptation of the short story ‘Céntrico, dos habitaciones, fenómenos paranormales’ by the Sevillian novelist Isaac Rosa.
I read it for the first time more than three years ago and I was immediately in tune with it. Not only because of the personal aspect, knowing the subject well and having been affected by it for many years as a neighbour of a big city, but also because of its significant creative values. Everything impressed me about that story: its ability to relate that elusive logic of our reality that at times seems impossible to narrate; the way in which, interwoven with the genre, it brings out the social touch; and the increasingly rare virtue of surprising you.
Behind the appearance of a ghost story, ‘Céntrico’ approaches a reality that is still very relevant today: the problem of housing in cities. A reflection on habitability as an act of survival in the context of the phenomenon of the tourist rentals.
