Director/Screenwriter Cecilia Romo was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She integrates stories from her personal experiences being a First-Generation Queer Mexican American raised by a single Immigrant Mother. She took a year off after High School to help her mother with health issues.
She originally dreamed of studying Theater in College ultimately pursuing her AA in Commercial Music Business with an intent to transfer as a Psychology Major that turned into Nursing. Realizing that her original mutual love and obsession with all Film and Television wouldn't stop knocking in her soul she decided that she could no longer avoid the little voice in her bones and enrolled in Film Video Production classes.
Cecilia is currently studying Film Video Production with a Minor in Creative Writing (concentration in Screenwriting) at California State University Sacramento. She Produced, Directed and Edited her first Student Production a Short Documentary Portrait titled "Transplant" in 2021 about a young woman Anya McInroy's (20s) history with Chronic Kidney Disease and Kidney Failure and her journey to a successful Living Donor Kidney Transplant from her childhood best friend.
Cecilia's goal is to share positive, honest, authentic Queer Latine stories that reflect the truth and beauty of those around her and put an end to tired damaging tropes.
