The 2nd annual Cause + Effect Film Festival is a progressive film competition in Athens, Georgia. The festival is now accepting films (2 - 15 minutes) FOR FREE on ecological, economical, political, and social issues concerning the state of Georgia. Last year, Cause + Effect received films from the importance of earth worms to police brutality. The deadline for film submission is Oct 2 at midnight.

Suggested topic include: health care, women’s rights, rural hospital crisis, LGBTQ rights, civil rights, workers’ rights, voting rights, poverty, income inequality, privatization of prisons, K-12 education, higher education, student loan debt, corporate welfare, environment, clean energy, public transportation, affordable housing, land use, transparency/corruption in government, food production, and water access.

Open to all Georgia filmmakers. Film must include primarily original content (all secondary content must be used only with permission) and focus on a social, political, environmental or economic issue facing Georgia or a community in Georgia. Films are due Oct 2 (for free) at causeandeffectfilm.org/submit

All films must include a call-to-action and/or propose solutions to the problem/issue on which the film focuses. The film must be between 2 and 15 minutes in length. Cause + Effect may accept films of slightly longer lengths, depending on film topic and quality. The competition is open to films in any genre (documentary, short, animation, music video, etc.).

Entrants will submit films at causeandeffectfilm.org/submit via YouTube links. There is no entry fee.
