The Catone Film Festival is a competition of short films with prizes offered by the National Association of Carabinieri of Monte Porzio Catone together with Koda Media. The Festival features the full range of short movies in their forms. This format allows for a wide range of expression: the technical and narrative solutions lack none of those in medium and long length feature films, in fact, their brevity often offers the possibility of presenting topics, themes and styles not often seen in the ‘mass media’. The short subject is not a stopgap for those who cannot produce a full-length movie, but is a deliberate choice, because the brevity eliminates the interference length can have on the emotional impact of a film.

1. BEST SHORT FILM IN FESTIVAL CFF18: A grant of €500.00 offered by the National Association of Carabinieri of Monte Porzio Catone and a commemorative plaque of the CFF18,
2. BEST SHORT FILM ON THEME OF ‘LEGALITY: A grant of €500.00 offered by the National Association of Carabinieri of Monte Porzio Catone and a commemorative plaque of the CFF18,
3. BEST SHORT FILM ON THEME OF ‘DISABILITY’: A grant of €500.00 offered by the National Association of Carabinieri of Monte Porzio Catone and a commemorative plaque of the CFF18.

The competition will accept any video, without regard to subject matter or type, as long as it has a maximum length of 20 minutes. Short subjects in any language will be considered as long as they have Italian subtitles. Particular attention this year will be given to films about ‘lawfulness’ and ‘disability. Final choices will be made by the Artistic Directors of the Festival. All the participants will be informed by the secretary of the CFF before the Festival of the outcome of their selection.

Deadline: 31 May 2018.
