Catfish Shorts is a platform to encourage films featuring female talent from around the globe.

Catfish Shorts is the collaborative vision of Courtney Harmstone and Melissa Woodside. Catfish Shorts aims to promote and support women in the film industry and across all creative industries. The festival has a very international outlook and team of judges.

Catfish Shorts hosted its inaugural event in February 2017 at The Tribeca Screening Room and Soho House. It was a great success, with 16 films screened, highlighting the work of women from Writer/Director to lead actress and Producer. The event was followed up by a "pre-Cannes" networking party" in 2017.

The event now looks forward to hosting its first ever official Film Festival Competition in London, UK.

Winners of the following categories will receive a congratulatory certificate, as well as a free pass to the festival the following year:

Best Original Screenplay
Best Directing
Best Acting
Best Cinematography

The winner of "best picture" will win The USD equivalent of £500 !

Films must have AT LEAST one female producer, writer, lead actress, and/or director. It is encouraged to have more and from various ethnic backgrounds.
