Angus Kirby is a filmmaker from Australia. His short film Now a Minor Motion Picture was awarded best screenwriting and best lead performance at the QLD Emerging Screen Talent Conference 2018. His short film, Desperate Pleasures, was nominated for the BIFF | Screen QLD Award in 2019. He's directed music videos for acts such as Full Flower Moon Band and QLD Music Award winners The Biology of Plants. In 2022, he directed The Odd River, an album film for Melbourne based musician, Helen Svoboda. The Odd River was supported by The Freedman Jazz Fellowship and Music Trust. It is currently screening in one off sessions in Australian cinemas, featuring a live performance by Svoboda before the film. His first feature film, Carnal Vessels, is set to be released in Australia by Radioactive Pictures.
The time spent making Carnal Vessels has been the most joyful of my life. Living in this movie with the cast and crew and the people in my life was a dream. I hope this lightness is reflected in the finished product.
