Carl Tomich is an Australian-based filmmaker who spent a decade in Berlin immersing himself in documentaries, music videos, and performance art. Initially pursuing a career in music, Carl realized at age 27 that filmmaking was his true calling, as it allowed him to merge his passion for storytelling with his flair for visual creativity. Greatly inspired by documentarian Louis Theroux, Carl takes a hands-on approach to his projects—stepping into the shoes of his subjects to authentically capture their experiences. Drawing on his multicultural background and love of experimentation, Carl’s work challenges conventional boundaries and offers fresh perspectives on contemporary life. Now back in Australia, he continues to cultivate dynamic collaborations and develop projects fueled by the curiosity and dedication that first sparked his transition into film.
