Cariño is a love letter to Miami — a city bursting with vibrant colors, rich culture, and a thriving multicultural community, which made it the perfect backdrop for this offbeat romantic comedy.

In an age where reality is reduced to carefully crafted online profiles, Cariño tells the story of two people stumbling through the chaos of modern dating. The film weaves color and VFX to explore the gap between the polished moments we share online, and the unfiltered reality we tend to hide.

As the characters ditch their digital façades, Cariño gives you a front-row seat to the hilarious misadventures of finding real connection — the messy, awkward, and cringe-worthy moments we all endure, where, despite it all, there’s a chance to be seen for who we really are.

I genuinely enjoyed directing the actors and helping tell the story of these spicy characters. There was a delicate balance between making the characters feel bold yet authentic. The actors brought so much of themselves to the roles, adding a level of charm and authenticity that was a true joy to direct. Their performances, paired with the vibrant wardrobe, local landmarks, and sharp dialogue, captured the unmistakable flavor of Miami. The soundtrack, featuring emerging artists from Spain and Latin America, tied it all together, creating a story that feels genuine, colorful, and full of heart.

We made this with love. We hope you have fun watching this crazy love story, and thank you for your consideration.
