Cape Cod - Match Point

In this symphony of love, a tale untold,
Where conflict and monsters reshaped the mold.
For love conquers all, no matter the guise,
And two lovers emerge, stars in love's skies.

Director Biography - Ivan Surnyk

Hi, my name is Ivan. I was born in Ukraine, Kyiv. I wanted to be in the filming profession since childhood. The coolest gift for me was a VHS camera, and the first PC on which I used Movie Maker to make my own versions of trailers for films that I liked. But life took a different turn, and I did not have the opportunity to do what I wanted.

I started working at the age of 14 and worked in many different professions for a long time, but I never lived my dream of filmmaking.

In the district where I grew up, being able to defend myself was a matter of survival, so I engaged in professional boxing and freestyle wrestling. Sport gave me the opportunity to earn enough money to study at a film academy.

After studying, I started my career in filmmaking. I was gaining experience and I wanted to study all filming processes as much as possible. I almost lived on a set. I have worked a lot as a second director, editor, actor, and others.

In 2021, together with my friends from the academy, I decided to create a production company. Commercials and music videos were our main work.

I created my first work as a director in 2022. After completing my project, I had a plan to go to the Czech Republic to get an education and to gain more experience in international projects. However, Russia initiated a full-scale war against my country, and post-production work on my project was stopped, as well as my plan for studying.

From the first days of the war, I decided to stay and join the army as a war correspondent. After 6 months on the front line, I moved to Prague, where I am now preparing to study in a film academy.
