Director Biography - Frank Abney

Frank E. Abney III has been animating in the Entertainment industry for over a decade. Frank has contributed his talents to TV, and award winning projects in games, and Oscar winning feature films for studios such as Crystal Dynamics, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Pixar Animation Studios. Storytelling has always been a part of Frank’s journey, and he aims to tell stories that bring truth, and inspiration to his viewers, while putting something positive into the world.

Director Statement

Frank’s vision for Canvas came from having his own personal experiences with loss, and how it has affected him, and other family members surrounding. The power in healing through creativity is a driving force in Canvas. For the past 5 years, he’s worked bit by bit on bringing this vision to life. It’s a story that resonates with anyone who has struggled with regaining their passion after experiencing a traumatic event. It speaks to re-finding creativity and leaning on those closest to us and finding inspiration through shared connection. Canvas is set to finish final production at the end of July 2020.
