Calling Bell
One day, a theatre artist of some repute, aged over 80, shakes off his ailment and dresses himself up before the mirror with an expectation of someone significant in his lonely house beside a railway station. Calling bells ring intermittently, but nobody turns up. The old man gets disillusioned and to his dismay he shuts himself off to enclosed darkness. After moments of poignant silence within he gets up as light percolates through the holes and he faces the mirror once again.
