As the creator and producer of the New York Festivals: TV & Film and Crowbar award-winning short film "Unconditional Love", Andrea's senior year film school production centred around the heart-warming account of interracial adoption made its debut at the Singapore Stories Film Gala in 2019 and solidified her aspirations as a filmmaker.
Her aims of encouraging interdisciplinary creativity have notably inspired her to perform at the National Library Drama Centre, write for the Singapore Kindness Movement, showcase at Singapore Art Week, and work with National Gallery Singapore while continuing her silver screen journey with organisations such as Viddsee.
A graduate from the Temasek Polytechnic School of Design, Andrea is an eloquent writer who has interned at internationally renowned media companies such as Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and Tribal Worldwide Asia-Pacific. She was a member of the production teams behind entertaining documentary shorts and thought-provoking articles for DCODE by Discovery and viral marketing videos that have garnered substantial viewership on various online platforms.
Andrea is currently an undergraduate at the School of Social Sciences at the Singapore Management University, majoring in Sociology and Arts & Culture Management. Her pursuit of knowledge has evolved into an avenue to blend her love for the arts with her understanding of sociological theory and cultural diversity to shape the stories she is passionate about bringing to life and introducing to global audiences.
The topic of mental health is a personal concept to each individual and a theme that has always deserved a global platform.
I am truly honoured to have the opportunity to create this documentary and play my part in the fight against destigmatising mental illness.
It is with immense hope that this production will encourage individuals to stay brave and overcome their difficulties related to their mental well-being.
Just know that no matter how difficult the road ahead may seem, that you will always possess the power and ability to persevere down the path of your challenges.
Never give up.
