Welcome to The Calgary Mountain Film Festival! An exciting selection of climbing and skiing films, speakers who represent today’s mountain culture, workshops, parties and Reel Rock Film Tour.

The Calgary Mountain Film Festival has spawned from a decade of hosting movies and speakers to Calgary's outdoor enthusiasts. Over this time we have noticed that our events have become a hub, a meeting place for the mountain community to gather and share their experiences. Like the old school slideshows hosted at a friends house, our community thrives on the opportunity to share and reminisce... an opportunity to dream about future trips and get excited about doing them together. Our mission is to provide that space and time for the mountain community to come together... to be the hub for our local community.

Awards & Prizes

Accepted Canadian/World Premiers (short film) — CAD $50
Accepted Canadian/World Premiers (30-40min film) — CAD $100

People's Choice Award — CAD $1000
People's Choice Award (Best Short) — CAD $500

Rules & Terms

All films must be the original work of the filmmakers and all filmmakers must have the necessary rights.

Films must not have distribution. VOD or your film being readily available to stream may affect your status. Calgary premiere required. (Music videos and Web Series may be available online.)

The Entrant grants CMFF the right to use any images provided for the promotional use of events related to the submission and/or the CMFF festival.

All CMFF films are selected as Finalists and all films are entered to compete for the People's Choice Awards.

The Calgary Mountain Film Festival reserves the right to change our programming without notice.
