Experiencing Interruptions?

Caerfaig

A poetic short film about a journey into limbic memory; an exploration on the themes of exile, war and the repetitive nature of trauma. Featuring found family images from the Outer Hebrides that have decayed through time into abstraction, opening up a poetic narrative on the exile in all of us.

Director Biography - Thérèse Jordan

After a long pause in filmmaking of 25 years, where, as a single parent, she concentrated on raising two children whilst earning a living, Thérèse picked up filmmaking again 7 years ago, caught up with the digital revolution and has since embarked on developing technical filmmaking skills, directing films and writing screenplays.

Graduating with a Masters Degree in Photography, awarded with merit, from the University of Gloucestershire in 2019, Thérèse started exploring artist filmmaking to expand her photographic ideas and knowledge, to be more creative visually on film.

Director Statement

Truthful performances and symbolic imagery tell stories without the need for words, that go straight to the heart of our humanity to connect with the truth in all of us, rendering us transformed as audiences and as human beings. Such is the power of film. I am passionate about it’s transformative nature. Films, and all art forms, have the capacity to enrich our lives and progress our understanding of each other, connecting us to those we see as different, improving the legacy of our humanity.
